NEW HEAD COACH APPOINTED
Whitecraigs are delighted to announce the appointment of Jim Henderson as Head Coach. Jim moves from Ayr Rugby club after a successful season last year. He is a respected and well-known former member of Whitecraigs Club and coached in the era when players such as Stevie Swindall and Eddie Kalman learned their trade.
Coinciding with the appointment, the Presidents of both Whitecraigs and Ayr Rugby Clubs are also pleased to announce they will move this season towards an association between the Clubs. This will be aimed at developing strong links, particularly in the youth sections and at U18 level giving promising players early exposure to Premiership rugby. Craig Redpath, the Ayr Head coach, said, " I see this working for both Clubs, we both have successful youth teams at U18, with Whitecraigs winning against us this year. Jim and I have worked closely for the last 3 years, bringing success to Ayr and I see a lot of positives for both Clubs in the future. We will certainly try and give up and coming players a platform and exposure to the demands of training and playing in the Premiership".
Jim said "This is the start of an exciting time at Whitecraigs and I hope that the young promising players will remain at the Club and will benefit from the association between the two clubs. There are a lot of players out there that Whitecraigs have produced and we hope they will return and still have the option of playing and training at a high level through the club association. Now we must look for pre season fixtures and get down on 10th July to the serious business of training for the start of this season"
