| Squash win for 'Craigs starlet |

THE next generation of squash stars got the chance to show off their skills recently.
The West of Scotland Closed Championships were held at Whitecraigs Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday April 5 and 6.
And rising Whitecraigs Rugby Club starlet Harry Anderson sccoped the title in the under 11s event.
Having only taken up the sport recently Harry got through three tough rounds to win the main prize after a hard fought final.
Harry, from Clarkston, was delighted with the result and is now hoping to test his skills further when he travels to Invernes to play in another event with the cream of Scottish talent.

At just 10-years-old Harry is improving all the time but he has the added advantage of being able to call upon the expertise of his dad Matt who plays at an extremely high level – in the West of Scotland Division one league.
Matt said: “It's great that Harry's playing a game that I enjoy so much and we are all so pleased that he managed to win this event.
“He's improving all the time but the main thing is that he enjoys playing the game.
“It's not just Harry though because his brothers play as well – so who knows in a few years we could have a full team of Anderson's playing in the league.” |
