Whitecraigs Festive Cheer

Whitecraigs continued their winning ways with a polished performance against Strathmore on Saturday.

The home side produced another fine display of running rugby combined with excellent support play, which the travelling Forfar team found difficult to cope with.

On a cold but windless day and excellent underfoot conditions, Whitecraigs started confidently, attacking at every opportunity and Stevenson opened the scoring with a try after 11 minutes.

This seemed to spur on the whole 'Craigs team and further tries by Fisher (2) and Keith Hunter, converted by Moffat, meant that they were 22 points ahead after just 30 minutes – and importantly the bonus point was secured.

After half time Campbell scored and another by Fisher – giving him his hat-trick – made the score 36-0.

Although Strathmore were a beaten side they continued to compete and scored a try near the end to make the final score 36 – 7 to the West Lodge men.

The victory leaves 'Craigs at the top of National League Division 3, with a five point cushion over Lenzie.

The season so far has been a tremendous effort by head coach Jim Henderson and his players and the side goes into the Christmas break in a great position and they can look forward to the final six games of the campaign.
