A THIRTEEN try romp over Newton Stewart on Saturday ensured the Whitecraigs title party went off with a bang.
Playing with an assured fluency their interplay and attacking prowess was too much for the visitors to handle.
And with the bonus point secured after just 25 minutes the West Lodge men then set about completing a revenge mission to make up for the defeat to the Dumfrieshire outfit in the first half of the season.
The rout began five minutes in when Stuart Pollock pressured the opposition into a mistake before pouncing on the loose ball to power his way over the whitewash.
Minutes later a clever chip in behind by Stuart Henderson saw Ryan Moffat outstrip the despairing defenders to claim the first of his hat-trick of tries.
The same two players combined again for the next score when quick thinking from Henderson at a penalty released Moffat who raced in at the corner.
The visitors were already looking weary when Jamie Howarth made a decisive break in midfield before offloading to Phil Nicol who added the bonus point try.
Howarth then got a try of his own when he went clean through the visitors' defence and danced his way over with a classy sidestep.
With the scoreline already at 29-0 the game was over but the gutsy Newton Stewart side never gave up and on the stroke of half time a series of strong drives by the pack saw them score.
After the break Moffat grabbed his third before the best try of the day was created by Ben Blamire and finished by Nicol.
Next to add his name to the scoresheet was Graeme Fisher and Pollock got his second try with some fancy footwork which the left the tired defence bamboozled.
With just 10 minutes left Craigs were leading 53-5 but the young side still had the energy and hunger to add another four tries.
Sub Gavin Mahindru got in on the act and then Ben Blamire was handed a try on a plate after Ally Stevenson brushed off three defenders to open up the gap.
The crowd were starting to celebrate and were given another moment to cheer when Howarth caught the ball straight from the kick off and made a lungbusting run to the line.
The final points came when Garry Johnston rounded off a team move and Moffat added to extras to leave the score at 77-5.
At the final whistle head coach Jim Henderson said: "I'm delighted with the way we have played throughout the season to succesfully secure another title.
"In the second half we played some excellent rugby and ran in a number of brilliant tries which was pleasing."
The squad were presented with the league trophy after the match and look forward to pitting their wits against the opposition in national league division one next year.
