A BLISTERING performance from Whitecraigs saw them get back to winning ways on Saturday and extend their lead at the top of the table to three points.
The Newton Mearns outfit made the short trip to Anniesland to take on Glasgow Accies and with several top team stars back in the side it did not take long to banish the memories of last week's disapointing defeat.
'Craigs were fast out of the blocks and dominated the opening 20 minutes with strong forward play and slick handling in the backs.
After just five minutes Ian Laidlaw was thwarted by the home defence when he was held up over the line.
But from the resulting scrum the backs flooded the blindside and Phil Nicol took the ball and glided through the desparing defenders to open the scoring.
And it did not take long for 'Craigs to add the second try of the day when the backs moved the ball wide and set up a good platform right on the Accies line, allowing Jamie Howarth to barge over to increase the lead to 14-0.
The score board kept ticking over when Ryan Moffat added two penalties in quick succession and 'Craigs looked as if they might run away with it.
However, a resillient Accies side started to find their rythym and bossed the closing stages of the first half.
They pounded at the Whitecraigs line but could not find a way through the ferocious defence and had to be content with just a penalty as a reward for all their efforts.
At the start of the second half Accies picked up where they had left off before the break and produced a sparkling backs move which saw the pacy home winger dance round the 'Craigs defence and touch down in the corner.
Rampant Accies, roared on by an expectant home crowd, kept up the pressure and Whitecraigs could not get out their half.
Another penalty for the home side cut the lead to 20-11, but 'Craigs eventually came back into it and started to show their title credentials.
Whitecraigs moved up a gear and after camping in the Accies danger zone for almost 10 minutes the ball finally came out to the backs and Graeme Fisher burst through a gap to score between the posts.
And the icing on the cake came 10 minutes from the end when Accies fumbled the ball in the midfield and Moffat pounced on it before making a lung-bursting run to the line, securing the bonus point.
The 32-11 victory sets Whitecraigs up for next week's tough trip to the borders to take on Hawick YM in a top of the table clash.
