Storm ‘Amy’ was kind on parts of the rugby world today not leaving too much wide spread devastation, leaving Hamilton playable for this 1xv away fixture.

Unfortunately due to last minute player shortages the 2xv game at Hamilton was cancelled. However many players still travelled to add to the healthy Whitecraigs support.

The breeze was sturdy at kick off . Whitecraigs had a mighty start to the first half., effective and full of energy. Whitecraigs defence solid keeping Hamilton in their half looking for a way out of the Whitecraigs offence.

Whitecraigs were unlucky not to take the early lead. Hamilton managed to break into the Whitecraigs 22 metre just over 20 mins gone with the score locked at 0-0. Some sustained pressure from the home team earned them a try on 25 mins. Whitecraigs continued to dominate much of the first half responding with 2 tries to lead 7-12 with half time approaching, and again unlucky not to extend their lead. Hamilton snatched another try before halftime to lead 14-12.

Hamilton scored early in the second half to stretch their slim advantage create momentum, running in a succession of tries for a convincing score 45-12 with 70 mins played. Whitecraigs chasing a try bonus point scored their third try of the game but ran out of time to score a fourth. Full time 45-17.
