With no matches for the past month the U18’s were looking forward to this end of season friendly at Glebe Park V Carrick.

The U18’s welcomed some of the eligible U16 players, Craig Andrews, Kyden Madziwa, Azzedine Kriba & Charlie McManus, into the squad for their first game and they all stood up to challenge playing their part in the Whitecraigs victory.

It was also the final U18’s match for the senior Under 18 Players Zak Morrison , Conal Rodgers, TJ & Cameron Hepburn as they make the transition to full time senior rugby. Good luck boys and thanks.

Carrick took advantage of a penalty in the first 5 mins and opted for 3 points by converting the penalty. Whitecraigs soon got into gear with some fantastic attacking play to score a couple of tries and take the lead by half time 8-12.

Whitecraigs pulled further ahead in the second with 2 more converted tries giving themselves a comfortable lead. Carrick however threatened and closed the gap with 2 more tries but were unconverted.

Whitecraigs kept their lead they had earned early in the first half to win the match 18-26.

We will celebrate tonight both the match and the end of the season at the Players Awards Dinner this evening.
